Over the last few years I’ve done thousands of treatments and I’ve always been aware that most back pain is related to weakness and/or stiffness in the core muscles (trunk) of the body, especially amongst office workers who sit at a desk all day.

There are many ways to exercise your core muscles, and any decent personal trainer will be able to help you with this, but this is a slightly different approach that combines software technology with restorative movement.

Corelounge is unique in that it combines innovative technology and software with therapeutic exercise, giving you that extra dimension when it comes to active recovery and muscle maintenance with minimal joint stress. The service is based around the Icaros Active VR system that is a very unique and innovative way to condition your core and upper torso muscles, as well as improve balance and neuromuscular coordination. You hold a kneeling plank position that pivots through a 3 dimensional gyroscopic range of movement as you steer your way through the virtual reality game using your muscle control to stay on course. Its much harder than you think, but it’s also fantastic fun!

You can also do this without the VR headset and still get a very different exercise experience as well as adding to this by making use of the Corealign device which enables you to perform lots of plank movement variations against a bungee resistance, which complements the other exercise you’ll be doing, although you can just spend the whole session floating around in Virtual space if you prefer! the choice is yours.

So get involved!

You can book a 1:1 session online, just select Corelounge on the service menu
